For employers wishing to have their voices heard, the comment period for the federal Overtime Rules Revision, which we recently wrote about, is open through May 21, 2019.

Why do it? It makes sense to ensure policy makers hear from small, medium, and large businesses because they will be hearing from the labor side. All sides ought to be represented and their comments and viewpoints considered.

How to do it? Yes, it takes a couple minutes, but it’s not difficult.  Visit the federal government online and click on the blue Comment Now! box on the upper righthand side. You’ll have a chance to see other commenters and add your views.  This website provides both a summary as well as the entire proposed rule, so it’s a one-stop process to have your voice heard.

If you have questions about overtime under federal or New York State law, feel free to reach out to the lawyers at The Coppola Firm.
