By Olivia Proia | WKBW | April 28, 2021

A Jacobs School of Medicine resident has filed suit against a fellow resident and her employer University Medical Resident Services and University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Studies for not intervening. Represented by Lisa Coppola, the resident claims that Akl touched her inappropriately, and when she reported the incidents to her program director in December 2019, the University did not take steps to follow up. Although it was never investigated by the University, The Coppola Firm found several witnesses to the abuse.
