As we’ve written about before, New York law requires employers to pprovide employees with written notice of their voting-related rights at least 10 working days before an election.

The next election is November 3, 2019. Depending on your company work week, this means employers need to post the required notice now or within the next few days. Remember, it needs to remain up until the end of voting day.

Visit this Board of Elections site to find the text of the law. Even better, on page 2, you’ll find a perfectly-compliant notice to post in a conspicuous spot in your workplace.

Go ahead. Do it today. Put up the notice, and then you don’t have to worry about it.

Should you have questions about this or other employer/employee matters, feel free to give us a ring. The Coppola Firm’s team is here to help.

And, please, do vote.
